HEARTWORM INFORMATION:

Some of our dogs are being treated for heartworm. If you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog you will be told at what stage they are in their journey to recovery, and also be given written instructions from the Hungarian vet (in English) on how to give them the medication – don’t worry it is very simple!

We have several adopters at any one time treating their dogs for HW, and there will always be someone to talk to. Your medication will be provided by Paw Pose Rescue at cost price as they are able to purchase in bulk.

It costs on average £10 per month for the antibiotic powder, you will be given a course of extra strong worming tablets for your dog, and a testing kit. All of this will be discussed with you before you agree to adopt the dog, and UK vets that have looked over our paper work have always been impressed at the thoroughness of the Hungarian vet’s testing and instructions.
